Several of our board members were in Montreal over the weekend for the "Innovation and Future Church Forum", hosted by Acadia Divinity College’s Futuring Hub, @missionallabs, Station M, and Power to Change. The forum gathered leaders from across Canada to explore gospel-centered innovation and the future of the Church. Building on the forum, some leaders gathered the next day for a 'Lausanne Montreal Regional Fall Gathering' at Hope Church - Église Espoir, a space for conversation, prayer, and collaboration around gospel advance in Quebec. It was a rich time of sharing, learning about the gospel movement in Quebec, and strengthening fellowship among missional friends. As @_philipyan @crecanada reflected: "It was a blessing to gather with fellow leaders and friends, with deep learning from Philippe Hui and Pastor Yanick Ethier who discussed mission in Quebec. We built missional friendships, shared vision, and dreamed together for gospel advance–discovering again that unity is our strength!🙏🇨🇦" In recognition of Canada’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we were grateful to receive a recorded message from Dr. Michelle Kwok (@mtinwei), co-founder of Connexion Nordique. She offered blessings and words of honour for the Indigenous peoples of this land, reminding us of the ongoing call to reconciliation and partnership in God’s mission across all communities in Northern Québec and beyond. --- We’re encouraged by what God is stirring through these gatherings and look forward to more spaces across Canada where leaders can connect, build unity, and collaborate for gospel advance. Repost from @lausannemovementcanada board member @_philipyan • I’ll never forget last week, during the 4th Lausanne World Congress 🔥🌎, the moment of worship with 5,394 of us on site and over 2,000 VX participants, all singing “How Great Thou Art” together. It was like our praise reached heaven. 🙌🎶 Dr. @michaelohglobal Michael Oh, CEO of the Lausanne Movement, put it perfectly: the “I met” experience brought global mission influencers together in one space to learn to listen to God’s promptings, which was so powerful. Dr. Oh invites us to focus on the need for repentance, confidence in God’s plan, engaging the whole body of Christ, and declaring and displaying Christ effectively. What struck me was the constant call to pray for revival, which begins with repentance, unity, and servant leadership. The Korean churches showed us what this looks like in practice. One night, Amy and I had a deep conversation with a professor from Asbury University, Dr. Robin Lim. Dr. Lim was the first to enter the chapel, where the revival began in early 2023. He recounted in great detail and vividly how they experienced the presence of the Holy Spirit even in his skin (he still felt it while sharing with us). He shared that the revival continued in other universities and that a fantastic testimonial was brought back to Japan from a student who experienced the great awakening at Ashbury. A wave of revival took place as a result of that testimonial. As we talked, we couldn’t help but pray for a revival here in Canada. I keep coming back to this: the gospel can’t move forward with business as usual. God revealed two significant gaps: 1. activating the Gospel influencers in the marketplace—we need to influence and create a God-honouring marketplace; 2. fostering the next generation of leaders, especially Gen Z. But here’s the truth—none will happen unless we reframe our ministry mindset. So, global church, we need to join hands and march into this new journey together. I am deeply grateful for those who supported my self-financed journey. I knew this was a place I was called to be and obeyed humbly. - [ ] Being commissioned to continue to reach the world, along with over 5,000 other leaders, and making life-long connections with people from almost every continent, left an imprint on my soul that is indelible and eternal. - [ ] Here are my personal learning points; - There is no mission without power. We cannot do the impossible without the Spirit of God who makes all things possible and breathes things into life that are dead. - Prayer is non-negotiable for mission. No mission without power. No mission without prayer.
 - When we are silent in truth telling the future if the church is at risk. Truth-telling may cost you your life. It’s time to break the silence. We must share the stories of those who courageously face persecution daily for the gospel’s sake. - Persecution will never kill the church but a compromised gospel will. What a message to the minority church in North America that our compromises come at a cost. - Do not divide where Jesus has united. We are always to be motivated by love, not judgment. Why make distinctions where Jesus has made none? - We need to examine our presumed positions. I know this to be true, especially in the area of subtle unconscious biases towards women leaders. I met with several global women’s groups and there is a movement of women arising for such a time as now to take their place in the gospel narrative. It’s time, church, it’s time. - We must practice discernment together. The entire experience at Lausanne was wrapped in the language of collaboration and community. There is more we can do together than apart. - We must live as if we are unhindered to fulfill the Great Commission. The only barriers we often face are the ones we put on ourselves. Unforgettable!
